Privacy Policy

ScoutWise — last updated 9 September 2026
Draft. This describes how the software actually behaves today. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer and should be before the service accepts real users.

What this service does

ScoutWise publishes posts to social platforms on your behalf, at times you choose. You connect the accounts you want to publish to; nothing is published anywhere you have not connected.

What we store

How credentials are protected

Every platform credential is encrypted with AES-256-GCM before it is written to the database, and each ciphertext is cryptographically bound to the account that owns it, so a credential belonging to one user cannot be decrypted in the context of another. Credentials are decrypted in memory only for the moment a post is published. They are never returned to the browser, never written to logs, and never shown again after you save them.

Who we share it with

Your content and the relevant credential are sent to the platform you selected, in order to publish. That is the entire purpose of the service. We do not sell data, do not use it for advertising, and do not share it with anyone else.

Deleting your data

Disconnecting an account erases its stored credentials and cancels any deliveries still waiting on it. Deleting a post removes it and its scheduled deliveries. Deleting your user account removes your connected accounts, posts and uploaded media.

Platform terms

Each platform you connect also applies its own terms and privacy policy to the data it receives. Revoking this application's access from within a platform's own settings immediately stops it from publishing there.
